About this role

In FEM, editors are responsible for both content and copy editing articles. Content editing is designed to make sure each of our articles published in FEM are thorough and intersectional in their analysis of issues, media, events, etc. Copy editing involves editing for grammar, spelling, and punctuation while following the Associated Press style guidelines. Each editor applies to their primary section: Arts and Creative, Dialogue and Opinion, Politics, Entertainment, and Campus Life. Once you are in FEM, you are able to edit for multiple sections.

FEM Newsmagazine has a zero-tolerance Artificial Intelligence use policy, including for the following nonexhaustive list of purposes: researching, writing, editing, drawing, and designing. By applying, you agree to follow this policy of anti-AI use, and violations may result in instant removal, up to the discretion of your section head, the Managing Editor, and Editor-in-Chief. Staff members should be able to provide proof of originality of their own work upon request.

NOTICE: As members you will be expected to attend MANDATORY training sessions during Weeks 3 and 4!

Tentative Dates - Oct 18th Journalism 101 & Media Law is mandatory for all interns. Oct 24th and 25th Magazine Writing - writing interns. Copy - content & copy editing interns. Magazine Design - design interns.

We will provide more specific times and locations after decisions are made and dates are finalized.
