About this role
The Social Media team works to create a cohesive social media presence for the Daily Bruin, ensuring that content reaches a broad online audience. It collaborates with other sections to inform and connect with the UCLA community. As a member of the section, you will have the opportunity to create social media content, coordinate with other Daily Bruin sections on creative content opportunities and learn how to summarize articles and other written pieces for promotion on sites like X and Facebook.

A Daily Bruin Social Media intern will assist in completing the following tasks:
Design and create visual representations of written words using a design platform.
Write short blurbs summarizing Daily Bruin articles to be posted on Facebook and X.
Proposing informative and relevant content for Instagram and TikTok.
Be willing to take – and learn from – constructive feedback.
Communicate with editors and other staffers in a prompt and professional manner.
Over the course of their internship, a Daily Bruin Social Media intern will learn the following:
Information condensation for social media posting.
Journalistic writing skills professional style.
Post design and engagement strategies.
Content creation and curation.
