
About this role
The Podcasts section is responsible for producing narrative and interview-based audio stories that highlight news, culture and community at UCLA and beyond. The section often works with the video section and other editorial teams to provide the UCLA community with engaging and accessible audio journalism. Our section has multiple beats, including news, arts and culture, and sports podcasts. We use multiple editing software platforms, including Adobe Audition.
A Daily Bruin Podcasts intern will assist in completing the following tasks:
Researching and pitching podcast story ideas.
Recording, editing and mixing podcast episodes.
Coordinating with guests and scheduling interview recordings.
Fact-checking information and ensuring high editorial standards.
Over the course of their internship, a Daily Bruin Podcasts intern will learn the following:
Audio editing and sound design.
Interviewing and narrative storytelling techniques.
How to collaborate with other multimedia teams to create cohesive content.
