About this role

The Illustrations and Cartoons section produces illustrations, headers, animations and cartoons to communicate stories and opinions through a visual medium. The section creates artwork for written content sections, as well as standalone content. Interns will use Adobe Suite, Procreate and other physical mediums.

Being a part of the Illustration and Cartoons section teaches one to think creatively and add their own touch on a project, while maintaining the original intent. Illustrations has won several California College Media Association Awards. Please view the Illustrations section’s standalones here

A Daily Bruin Illustrations and Cartoons intern will assist in completing the following tasks:

  • Attending section training and media training.

  • Collaboration in taking writers’ stories and depicting them through visual mediums.

  • Creative ideation by pushing visual expression for illustrations and avoiding typical representation of ideas.

  • Adaptability and time management.
