The Daily Bruin’s Copy section serves as the newspaper’s watchdog and the readers’ advocate. We’re the final eyes on all content, and we edit for accuracy, grammar, style and sensitivity. We also write headlines, which we have won awards for on a state and national level.

A Daily Bruin Copy intern’s responsibilities include:
Completing a weekly copy editing shift
Drafting headlines
Attending biweekly section meetings
Learning from feedback
Over the course of their internship, a Daily Bruin Copy intern will:
Sharpen their editing skills through practice and feedback
Refine their attention to detail
Become familiar with AP and Daily Bruin style
Improve their headline-writing skills
