About this role

As a whole, BruinLife is composed of various components: the BruinLife Annual, BruinLife Online and BruinLife Photo Studio.

As a member of the BruinLife Marketing staff, you will work on various marketing projects that promote BruinLife’s brand and strengthen its presence within UCLA. These include graphic design, collaboration efforts with clubs and businesses, social media content promotion, promotional event planning, and outreach efforts.

Marketing staff members will have the opportunity to brainstorm creative ways to increase awareness of BruinLife’s website and services (photo studio/yearbook) and develop campaigns. Members will also frequently work alongside other BruinLife sections to promote their work, often through finding ways to market articles.

While Marketing and Social Media work together, they are different sections within BruinLife. The Marketing team focuses on the broader strategy of how BruinLife promotes itself, including campaigns, branding, partnerships, outreach, etc.. Social Media focuses more specifically on BruinLife’s engagement across social platforms through content creation.

The two teams will frequently collaborate to bring ideas to life. Marketing may develop a campaign while working with Social Media to determine how it can best be translated into engaging online content. Expect plenty of crossover (if you ever have a reel idea, you can still make it happen)!

We are looking for collaborative and enthusiastic students who are interested in gaining experience in community engagement and marketing. Whether you’re interested in designing developing campaign ideas or brainstorming new ways to get people to notice BruinLife, there is room to further your interests.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a team to create and execute actionable plans to increase awareness of articles and the yearbook

  • Help develop interactive campaigns that encourage UCLA students to engage with BruinLife

The purpose of these office hours is to work on BruinLife assignments in-office, but we also encourage staffers to utilize the office to study, rest and socialize with other BruinLife members.

  • Complete at least one one-on-one with your section editor per quarter.
