UCLA Radio is looking for Winter 2021 Interns!
Use this application to creatively show us how you would be an active member of UCLA Radio. Be yourself, and have fun with it! The goal of this application is to get a sense of who you are and how you could uniquely and originally contribute to the station. This quarter, we are looking for interns with enthusiasm and new ideas for improving how we function remotely and use our platform!
Please be aware of the commitment involved with joining Radio. For Winter quarter 2021, interns will be expected to attend mandatory virtual intern meetings on Tuesdays 6:30-7:30 pm, watch weekly recorded classes, attend regular department meetings, biquarterly all-station meetings, and other potential events/socials. There will also be regular creative, station-related tasks and projects. Most interns find all of these engagements fun and rewarding, but if you don’t have the time, please consider applying in a future quarter! If you are accepted, we will expect that you attend the first intern class on Tuesday, January 19 6:30-7:30 pm PST.
Given California’s COVID-19 orders and the precautions we are taking to ensure the safety of all Radio members, our station is functioning remotely with some departments less active than others right now. Currently, we are focusing our efforts on diversifying content for our blog, redesigning our website, improving marketing strategies, and highlighting artists through virtual interviews and performances.
Because of these adaptations, all Winter 2021 interns will be hired without an assigned department but are still able to commit more time to specific departments of their interest. All Winter 2021 interns will be required to complete a one-time training session on station equipment when our station is open again.
*Note: UCLA Radio Intern positions are unpaid.
