Overview: A Pacific Ties designer is responsible for working closely with writers in producing visual components to supplement the writer’s work, and maintaining the official PacTies website. Designers may also submit original artwork/illustrations/photos for the website, either as a stand-alone piece or in collaboration with a writing piece. Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva, WordPress back-end and/or other creative platforms is preferred, but experience with Adobe InDesign is necessary.
There will Student Media training sessions taught by professionals and office hours available for guidance.
What You Will Do: -> Attend staff meetings and design workshops. -> Create illustrations, graphics, and also designs for merchandise. -> Provide original illustrations/designs to accompany the written works by staff writers for the website. -> Be responsible for design elements of the website. -> Engage in discussions about the APIDA community -> Actively participate in Pacific Ties events and outreach.
