- NOMMO EVENTS INTERN -
DESCRIPTION - Nommo was founded in 1969 as the first student-run ethnic magazine in the country. Nommo aims to continue the legacy of operating as a Black student-serving magazine and newspaper through journalistic writing, creative writing, multimedia journalism, video and photojournalism, and community service. We are looking to recruit motivated, creative, and passionate students to channel their talents through our work. The events coordinating team is responsible for all aspects of the planning and execution of Nommo’s events. They provide timely coverage of Black UCLA events and develop online content respectfully. While attending community events on and off campus, events staffers populate the Nommo social media with live tweets from events, story posts and photos, and short commentary on the event.
- Attend weekly meetings and club events on time
- Support various Nommo staff in the planning, budgeting, and production of events
- Plan at least 2 events (entire staff) per quarter
- Collaborate with other staff members on event planning
-Participate in club meetings, events, and projects
