As a writing intern, your responsibilities include active participation at mandatory weekly meetings, engaging in frequent contact with editorial staff, and working towards La Gente's mission of community self-determination, social justice, and equity for all oppressed peoples.

To successfully complete the internship by the end of the quarter, interns must have completed the following tasks to your editor's satisfaction: Published a minimum of 2 articles, as assigned by editorial staff. Further information will be provided once accepted as an intern). Interviews for intern positions will be scheduled with the editorial staff during Week 2.

Once internship is completed, interns will be transitioned into staff and select one of the following teams to join: Cultura – Includes art, entertainment, poetry, etc., with a heavy emphasis on exploring unique forms of writing/content production regarding Latine culture. A qualified applicant is fluent and familiar with expressions and colloquialisms in both languages. Your job will be to make sure written content is understandable and relevant to our audience. (If interested in this section please respond to the following questions in Spanish to the best of your ability.)

Additionally, as full time staff, you may also join one of the following teams: Radio - Our weekly live podcast that covers topics like art, entertainment, news, politics, community organizing, and Latinidad!
