Spanish Translator/Writer Intern

In this position, you will mainly do literary and multimedia translations. The Spanish translator/writer will be responsible for translating and proofing articles created in English and Spanish. You will also coordinate with the social media team to translate posts across all our platforms to be more inclusive. A qualified applicant is a fluent speaker of both languages and is familiar with expressions and colloquialisms in both languages. Your job will be to make sure written content is understandable and relevant to our audience. To successfully complete the internship by the end of the quarter, you must have completed the following tasks to your editor's satisfaction: 1. Written/translated 2 published articles (1 must be an original pitch) 2. Pitched at least 1 original article 3. Assisted with the promotion of the quarterly print issue 4. Attended weekly meetings

The tentative weekends of training are Oct. 21 & 22, Oct. 28 & 29, and Nov. 4 & 5

In addition to trainings for specific positions, all Student Media interns/staff are required to attend a mandatory Journalism 101 & Media Law which take place on the same day.
