Knowledge of InDesign is required As a design intern, you will assist the design editor in creating the layout for the quarterly print issue. You will facilitate the overall design process and work closely with the editor-in-chief and design editor in ensuring a cohesive aesthetic/thematic appearance. The design intern will be tasked with the digital layout of our work for print, web, and other layout and design assignments as needed.
To successfully complete the design layout internship by the end of fall quarter, you must have completed the following tasks to your editor's satisfaction: 1. Written/translated 3 articles (2 must be original pitches) 2. Pitched at least 2 original articles 3. Assisted with the promotion of the Fall print issue 4. Completed 3 weekly office hours (weekly meeting attendance does not count towards office hour completion)
*You must attend the following mandatory training sessions: - Training will begin the weekend of October 12-13 and run for two additional weekends (Oct. 19-20, 26-27) -One Media Law training TBA Please keep these dates in mind when applying because failure to attend training will result in dismissal from the internship program. *
