As copy intern, you will proof and edit the staff's pieces before being reviewed by the editor-in-chief and published. Grammatical, punctuation, word flow, and spelling errors should be your main priority but stay alert for anything that might go against the AP style guide. In this position, you will develop a relationship with the rest of the team and learn the ins and outs of producing/publishing content for articles. Some familiarity with the AP style guide preferred, but not required.
To successfully complete the internship by the end of fall quarter, you must have completed the following tasks to your editor's satisfaction: 1. Proof at least 2-3 articles 2. Assisted with the promotion of the Fall print issue 3. Completed 3 weekly office hours (weekly meeting attendance does not count towards office hour completion)
*You must attend the following mandatory training sessions: - Training will begin the weekend of October 12-13 and run for two additional weekends (Oct. 19-20, 26-27) -One Media Law training TBA Please keep these dates in mind when applying because failure to attend training will result in dismissal from the internship program. *
