The social media team ensures that Fem's social media accounts are running smoothly and engaging our readers. Social media team members join a group (or multiple) that is dedicated to one of our social media platforms -- Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, and our weekly newsletter that we’re reviving (we use MailChimp). The social media team also works on creative projects, such as hashtag campaigns, photo series, etc., to maintain and increase Fem's community outreach and content visibility.
Responsibilities include: Weekly operation of FEM's social media accounts (Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, Instagram, Sunday night newsletter) in coordination with the social media manager and other team members Promote FEM online articles, upcoming events, print issue releases, recruitment, merch, etc. on designated platforms Attending social media staff meetings and trainings Developing creative projects for content production Adhering to and creating a schedule for team members to maintain steady content output on all platforms Ensure all content posted on platforms adheres to FEM's mission statement
NOTICE: As members you will be expected to attend MANDATORY training sessions during Weeks 2 and 3 Tentative Dates - Jan 19th and 26th Journalism 101 & Media Law is mandatory for all interns. Magazine Writing - writing interns. Copy - content & copy editing interns. Magazine Design - design interns. Radio, Video, Community Outreach, Social Media, Social Planning, Finance, and Web Development Interns are required to choose any one of the three trainings {Writing, Copy, or Design} to attend, along with Journalism 101 & Media Law. We will provide more specific times and locations after decisions are made.
