As print manager, you will be responsible for monitoring the progress of FEM's print issue every quarter. You will keep staff on schedule and report progress in senior staff meetings. You will be working closely with design directors, section editors, and the editor-in-chief to produce the print issue. You will assist the Editor in Chief in making content/copy edits, as well as assisting Design team with cultivating the layout of the print issues.
This position is an intensive senior staff position -- second in command to the editor-in-chief, alongside the web manager. Attention to detail and responsible communication is a necessity. The print manager is responsible for overseeing FEM's quarterly print issue process. This position requires management of the FEM print issue schedule, communication with senior staff, editors, social media teams, designers, and writers. Position responsibilities: 1. Oversee the print issue schedule each quarter -- make sure we meet deadlines for writing, editing, designing, and publishing due dates 2. Maintain communication with staff members 3. Organize print issue meetings 4. Attend weekly to biweekly senior staff meetings 5. Communicate regularly with the editor-in-chief about issues, progress, ideas, etc. 6. Regular communication with social media manager for promoting upcoming print issue 7. Cooperation with FEM's member policy
NOTICE: You will be expected to attend MANDATORY training sessions at the beginning of FALL quarter. Training will begin the weekend of October 12-13 and will run for 2 additional weekends (Oct. 19-20 and 26-27). You will either have training two days during one weekend or one day each weekend. You MUST attend training, so keep that in mind when deciding to apply.*
