The Art & Design Staff works closely with the Art & Design directors to create and maintain FEM’s brand.

Designers cultivate our printed issues through layout, graphic design, and their photography/art. They create 2-3 drafts of their print design each issue, working closely with writers and the design directors to develop an image that satisfies all parties, aesthetically meshes with the print issue, and upholds FEM’s mission statement.

Designers also work throughout the year to create designs for articles, assigned to them by the design directors.

Designers help with creative projects, such as photoshoots, video production, merch designs, promotion image designs, etc.

Designers are required to attend weekly meetings with their team. If they cannot attend meeting, they are required to communicate with design directors to attend office hours that week. They must regularly design for print and/or web to maintain their position on staff.

NOTICE: As members you will be expected to attend MANDATORY training sessions at the beginning of the Fall Quarter.: Tentative Dates - Oct. 18 & 19, Oct. 25 & 26, and Nov. 1 & 2 it will take place over ONE weekend, NOT ALL We will provide more specific dates as we get closer to the training dates.
