Welcome to the Fall 2021 application for Bruinwalk! Please fill out your profile fully, answer the questions so we can get to know you better and remember to submit your application by the deadline.
Bruinwalk is Daily Bruin's website serving over 18k students of the UCLA community yearly. It's a place where students can find their next GE, share reviews of classes and apartments with others and much, much more!
Some major projects we have planned for this year are releasing a beautiful redesign, collaborating with Daily Bruin's data journalism section, the Stack, to integrate their tool informing students when classes fill up and improving site reliability.
As an intern for Bruinwalk, you will learn about our software stack and gain experience with Django, Postgres, Docker and other technologies. You will learn to work on a project with a large team, gaining experience with Git and communication. Most importantly, you have the opportunity to make impactful decisions that affect the way thousands at UCLA choose their classes, the most important process for a student. Don't worry if you're intimidated or don't have any prior experience; we'll teach you!
Interns for Bruinwalk are expected to join at least one, one hour meeting weekly and finish their tasks in a timely manner. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email our Director, Melody Chen ([email protected]) or our Assistant Director, Nick Nhien ([email protected]).
If you want to apply your technical skills in service of your UCLA community, join the Bruinwalk team!
