Daily Bruin is seeking Video Interns for Fall 2025! We hope to expose students and prospective media professionals to the process of creating, producing and publishing journalistic videos. We aim to be at the forefront of the digital revolution — which is quickly and continually evolving. We strive to impress on Westwood and UCLA’s cultural fabric using innovative storytelling and digital media tools. Join us!
OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN
Video journalism style and approach
Quick video-editing turnaround
Equipment, such as DSLRs, tripods, gimbals, shotgun microphones, and lavalier microphones provided
Editing softwares
Managerial software, such as Camayak, Trello, and Slack
Video and documentary news and trends
Effective content presentation
Critical media literacy
RESPONSIBILITIES
Gather video assets, compile footage, and secure permission from outside sources
Research, fact-check, and write interview questions
Assist with shoots and/or editing sessions
Video editing
Contribute to ongoing series posted on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram
Assist producers and teammates in the daily workflow (e.g. responding/reacting in Slack, looking out for engaging visual trending news stories)
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong interest in news media, video/video-editing, and documentaries
Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines
Strong desire to learn and get involved
Communication skills
Keen eye for detail
Familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro/Final Cut Pro is a plus, but not a requirement
