The Daily Bruin Social Media department serves as a link between the Daily Bruin's audience and newsroom. Social Media producers will work across various social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Reddit to help our audience discover and engage with our content. We work across all content sections to plan social media campaigns for our special issues, create Instagram Stories and more to build the Daily Bruin's social media presence.
Our main social media platforms are listed here:
Through training, producers will understand the mechanics behind journalistic writing style and gain valuable multimedia production skills. Prior journalism experience is welcome, but not required. We welcome applicants at all levels.
Applications are due January 13, 12:00pm PST. Please contact Christine Anne David, the Social Media director at [email protected] with any questions.
NOTE: If hired, you are required to attend training in the weekends after weeks 3 (Jan. 25-26), 4 (Feb. 1-2) and 5 (Feb. 8-9) as well as a weeknight media law training (date TBD). Failure to attend these sessions is subject to dismissal.
