Thank you for expressing interest in Daily Bruin Podcasts! The podcast genre is one of the fastest growing sectors in news media. We seek to capitalize on the accessible, engaging, and entertaining nature of the podcast medium by creating a forum for conversations, debates, and in-depth explorations of interesting topics. As a Podcasts intern, you will develop skills in journalism, research, and speech.

This year, the Podcasts section will be producing a number of shows, including but not limited to the following: This Week: A weekly news show that discusses the biggest news stories of the week from Daily Bruin. Bruin to Bruin: A weekly show in which a Podcasts contributor interviews a UCLA alumnus who is a leader and innovator in their field. Quarterly mini series: A mini series produced every quarter that explores a different topic. Past examples include Religion on Campus, Side Quest, Transfer Take, Bruins in Hollywood, Bruins Built This, etc. Deep Dive: A show with episodes that explore the complexities of a specific topic.

As an intern in Podcasts, your job may include: -Planning -Contacting guests/sourcing -Script writing -Recording -Editing -Transcribing

Please note tentative training weekends are scheduled for October 19-20, October 26-27, and November 2-3. These are mandatory dates that every incoming intern who joins Student Media is required to attend. All are welcome to apply.
