Outreach handles external relations, retention and recruitment. We work on several projects every quarter, with each project falling under one or several of these umbrellas. Some previous and ongoing projects entail overseeing recruitment content and tabling, organizing networking and professional development events with the Daily Bruin Alumni Network, coordinating high school and community college visits, creating detailed retention analysis and establishing relationships with organizations across UCLA. We also manage the recruitment (Instagram: @dailybruinappinfo) social media accounts. At Outreach, there are bountiful skills to gain – from copywriting and social media to event planning and project management– and opportunities to create meaningful impacts within the newspaper.
