As a graphic journalist for the Daily Bruin, you will be able to create works that are not only visualy appealings, but convey stories that are relevant to our campus and more. You will be able to work alonside all the departments in the newsroom to create visual media that conveys important data. Graphic artists will also have the chance to pitch their own ideas for graphic journlism.

The Daily Bruin Graphics department uses Adobe Illustrator to create graphics but it is not necesary that you know how to use the program as there will be trainings. Previous graphic design experience is a plus but not required.


Graphic interns are requred to complete at least four graphics a quarter. Graphic interns are are expected to meet with a Graphics editor once a week. Graphic interns must attend section meetings once a week.

NOTE There will be three days of mandatory training sessions on the weekends January 25-26, February 1-2, and February 8-9. Keep in mind that should you be hired, you must attend these sessions.
