Design

  • Deadline:
    Oct. 6, 2025, noon

The Design department is responsible for arranging the layout of stories and art for print issues of the Daily Bruin newspaper. We also design the interactive features on dailybruin.com, PRIME magazine and Daily Bruin's social media platforms.

While a good eye for design is helpful, experience is not necessary. Through training, interns will gain a working understanding of Adobe InDesign and print design that can provide valuable experience for the world of print and graphic design, regardless of major. Interns will also learn Figma and how to create engaging designs for digital platforms. As a note, while we do create some web-based projects, the Design department is not based in UI/UX.

Tentative weekends for mandatory student media training are Oct. 18 & 19, Oct. 25 & 26, and Nov. 1 & 2

If you have any questions about the Design section, email Crystal Tompkins at [email protected].
