Use this application to creatively show us how you would be a contributing member of UCLA Radio. Be yourself in the application; this is the only chance we have to see who you are before we interview! Have fun with it!
Please be aware of the commitment involved with joining Radio. Interns are expected to attend mandatory classes Tuesdays 8-9pm, a one-hour radio show with a DJ mentor once a week (scheduled to your needs), weekly department meetings, biquarterly all-station meetings, and other potential events/socials. There will also be a few creative, station-related assignments. Most interns find all of these engagements fun and rewarding, but if you don’t have the time or enthusiasm, please consider applying in a future quarter. Also be aware that if you are accepted, we will ask you to attend the first intern class Tuesday January 22nd and an all-station meeting Wednesday January 23rd.
You may complete two applications maximum. If you are accepted as an intern, you will not be required to stay in the department you applied for. All Radio members are encouraged to explore all departments fully, and switch or contribute to multiple if they wish. Members of any department are welcome to have a show on air.
The Marketing Department at UCLA Radio is responsible for building and creating the brand of the station. This can include everything from orchestrating merchandise sales, organizing social media, flyering on Bruinwalk, and working with external groups to present events. We work with UCLA groups and administration, concert venues and our own event department to get the word out about all of the amazing things UCLA Radio has to offer.
