  • NOMMO SPORTS INTERN - DESCRIPTION - Nommo was founded in 1969 as the first student-run ethnic magazine in the country. Nommo aims to continue the legacy of operating as a Black student-serving magazine and newspaper through journalistic writing, creative writing, multimedia journalism, video and photojournalism, and community service. We are looking to recruit motivated, creative, and passionate students to channel their talents through our work. The sports intern would specialize in journalistic news coverage of UCLA sporting events through live field reporting, athlete interviews, sports data journalism, and broadcast journalism (sports segment).

RESPONSIBILITIES - - Attend weekly meetings and club events on time - Cover UCLA sporting events with live field reporting - Attend writing staff meetings and create written sports reports with statistics - Contribute at least 4 times per quarter to the Nommo website and/or print works - Collaborate with other staff members (production, photography, or videography) to assemble video packages and graphics - Plan and execute sports events in collaboration with the Events Staff -Participate in club meetings, events, and projects
