The alumni outreach coordinator will be responsible for managing a database of alumni who have an interest or connection with La Gente, journalism, activism, or Latinx culture/heritage as well as adding to that list through research and direct outreach.
In order to do prepare you we have a couple mandatory quarterly assignments and one-time trainings, if there are issues with these dates inform us ASAP:
-Trainings are on January 26 & February 2nd or January 27 & February 3rd. The specific dates for Art & Entertainment training is TBA.
-One Media Law training TBA
-Other tasks throughout the quarter include:
-2 hours dedicated to flyering, fundraising, etc. (your choice) a week. General Meetings and Office hours count toward these hours
-Historical research into our archives
-Outreach to 2 new organizations per quarter.
Basic knowledge of google suite and MailChimp is preferred but we will have trainings to cover most of our technical and basic needs.
