All BruinLife staff members are required to do a minimum 3 office hours (you choose the hours) per week in the office. The purpose of these office hours are to do BruinLife related work, study, nap, get away from the heat/cold, interact with other members of staff, etc.
All Staff Meetings are held once 3-4 times per quarter from 6-7PM on Mondays.
Staff Specific Meetings are held by your editor every week
Regardless of whichever staff you belong to, everyone is required to write a minimum of 1 article for the yearbook that is no longer than 550 words.
The BruinLife retreat is on October 19 (evening) – October 21 (early morning) and is MANDATORY for all staff. We strongly believe in the importance of getting to know your fellow staff members as the retreat establishes the mood for the entire year and we therefore make NO EXCEPTIONS for not attending retreat.
BruinLife hosts various social events thorough out the year to get you acquainted with the entire staff and to celebrate the completion of deadlines.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:
-The BruinLife Video staff is involved in shooting various topics to be published on the BruinLife website, but also various video projects for Student Media
-As a videographer, you are responsible for quarterly video assignments, attending all staff meetings and video staff meetings.
-Shooting a minimum of 1 video assignments per deadline (every 2 weeks)
-Pitching ideas, covering a range of events and topics for the BruinLife blog.
Applicants do not need prior video experience to apply for this job. There will Student Media training sessions taught by professionals, staff workshops, and office hours available for guidance. However, due to the nature of the position, videographers with basic knowledge of video editing and/or taking video will be preferred.
Please note that mandatory media law training and video training for new staff videographers will occur on the weekend of October 20-21 (1 day) and October 27-28 (1 day). Location and times TBA.
