Being a writer for Al-Talib means sharing your voice with the Muslim community, starting with the Muslim community at UCLA. Al-Talib writers have the power to empower and uplift our community through story telling, reporting, sharing opinions. Al-Talib writers are expected to perform one or a combination of the following tasks on a regular basis throughout the school year: conduct interviews, report on events, write analytical articles, write poetry. In addition to producing content, writers are expected to attend weekly writing staff meetings that provides a creative environment where editors will assist writers in the writing process, weekly office hours where that will give everyone on staff to collaborate, and occasional all staff meetings where all sections will come together to work on upcoming/ongoing projects. New members MUST attend Student Media training, date and location TBA.
Why are you interested in joining Al-Talib?

Journalism experience may be gained by working on a yearbook, a high school newspaper, newsletters, UCLA Student Media (including newsmagazines like Al Talib). If you have none, then tell us what you like most about writing.

Community service experience may be gained by participating in and/or leading a social, cultural, political, or academic organization. List positions held and a brief description of responsibilities fulfilled. If none, then leave blank.
