DISCLAIMER: There are no trainings provided this quarter. Because of this, interns will not be able to publish until Fall Quarter when trainings are offered. Even though this is the case, interns still will be able to help with other parts of the newsmagazine, such as responding to letters from currently incarcerated men, research for current stories and projects, and contributions to our social media platforms.
As an intern of La Gente's staff, you will join an enthusiastic group of student writers, journalists, photographers, designers, videographers and other creatives who are passionate about Latinx culture, current events, and activism.
Interns are required to: attend weekly meetings throughout the quarter, attend mandatory training to improve journalism skills (provided Fall Quarter), work and communicate with editors to ensure contributions are the best they can be. Minimum two (2) hours expected to be spent dedicated to La Gente productivity each week.
At La Gente, we're free to explore our passions. Staff is free to write/photograph/design whatever they're passionate about so long as it follows our community guidelines.
Applications are due Sunday, April 22, 2018 by 11:59 PM.
