Write a mock article (400-500 words), using the quotes as you see necessary. Feel free to make up specific stats. UCLA graduate Shauna Miller was the top pick in the WNBA’s draft two months ago. She has just agreed to terms with her team, the Philadelphia Liberty. Miller will be paid $4 million a year for the next four years. It is the most lucrative contract in WNBA history. Miller is a shooting guard. She led the Bruins in scoring three years in a row and set the UCLA scoring record. She led the Bruins to two consecutive NCAA championships. Quotes: Miller- “I am extremely pleased to join the Liberty organization and I cannot wait to contribute. The put a lot of trust in me and I don’t want to let them down.” Maya Walker (Liberty’s head coach)- “We cannot wait to get Shauna on the floor. She was unstoppable in college and we truly believe that she can be a leader of our organization and eventually become one of the elite players in the WNBA.” Lucy Smith (UCLA women’s basketball head coach)- “All of us here at UCLA are thrilled with Shauna’s success. She came in and played all four years and helped lead us to the Final Four in two consecutive seasons. She is the epitome of a True Bruin and we can’t wait to see what she will do in at the next level.”
