Are you passionate about art and hoping to contribute to UCLA in a meaningful and long-lasting way? Becoming an illustrator at the Daily Bruin may be the perfect opportunity for you!
Illustration interns create artwork that supplements articles published by the Daily Bruin newspaper. As members of the DB multimedia team, illustrators respond to art requests from the newspaper's content sections: news, sports, opinion, and arts and entertainment. Illustrators also contribute to the paper's quarterly magazine, PRIME, and collaborate with its other departments for projects such as website layouts and t-shirt designs.
Students from all majors and artistic backgrounds who are experienced in either traditional or digital mediums are encouraged to apply for this position.
The Daily Bruin enables its illustrators to refine their artistic process while obtaining valuable work experience in an exciting journalistic landscape which values, first and foremost, excellent communication. To become an illustrator for the Daily Bruin is also to be afforded the privilege of contributing exclusively to one of the nation's most acclaimed college newspapers.
Here are some examples of work created by our current and past illustration team. More examples can be found on the Daily Bruin website:
